OK, so what the hell is Zide? Well, it will be a Zope product to build browser-based applications. Zope is simply too good to just be used for boring stuff like forums, portals or other dynamic web contents. What I want to create is a tool that will enable you to create real applications, like accounting applications, e-mail clients, whatever, running in a browser. For this we need to create generator programs, that generate HTML and JavaScript f.e. for a decent menu system, decent grid controls with arrow keys movement and whatever, decent forms with arrow keys movement, and the like. Now we are just in the phase of conceptual design, but I submitted some files and screenshots, that show an example how one small part of Zide, the Menu Generator would work.
