My zenbackup script was not running from anacron (/etc/cron.daily/zenoss) - it failed with a no such file or directory /bin/zenbackup It seems that the ZENHOME environment variable is NOT being set / correctly exported by the call to ~zenoss/.bashrc. Calling the .bashrc script from a shell prompt does correctly set the ZENHOME variable but the call in the /etc/cron.daily/zenoss script (which uses the same '. <script>' calling convention) does NOT export the environment variables to the calling script.  This has been proven by echo statements within the script & by setting the ZENHOME variable explicitly within the script at which point the backup runs happily (although it is not finding any renderserver tmp files to delete…) I do not login as the zenoss user (and anacron runs as root anyway). This seems to be a problem with the standard backup script… DavidZenoss 3.0.3 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid)
