> If I'm not mistaken there was similar post some time ago where someone had to hardcode a specific 'AllowedChannel' into the driver. You may want to check the archives. That would be me. (not posted - only in success reports: my bad) Specifically I found that the eeprom fields for ZD_E2P_ALLOWED_CHANNEL were not initialized on the zd1211B device that I had (noname brand). I used the zd1205_dump_eeprom() function to view the eeprom. I then tried the device under winXP and it worked. It defaulted to the USA channels, but did not initialize the eeprom. The FAQ suggested "iwpriv wlan0 set_Region 1" but it did not work for me (.59) To get it to work under Linux I decided to just allow (force) all channels: After the line dot11Obj.AllowedChannel = zd_readl(ZD_E2P_ALLOWED_CHANNEL); I added dot11Obj.AllowedChannel = 0x3FFF; I suspect that this is a widespread problem with the "B" device - not sure about the right fix for the driver. Regardless, dot11Obj.AllowedChannel should always be initialized to a legitimate value (if not all channels enabled, as I have done). In addition, it would be best to have a utility to init the eeprom to the appropriate region. -----Original Message----- From: zd1...@li... If I'm not mistaken there was similar post some time ago where someone had to hardcode a specific 'AllowedChannel' into the driver. You may want to check the archives. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
