What do you mean with "anonymous CVS is down"? It's working pretty well...?! For your suggestions: - The distributed binaries will be for a specific distribution, e. g. for SuSE 8.2/i386 etc. So the mainstream users will get exactly the correct module without the need to learn on building binaries. - AFAIK we are not using DOS CD LF already. If you found some, please tell us where. - The attributes you are seeing are not set by us. A file transmission always sets the local attributes depending on the client machine, not on the server machine (AFAIK). So you should check your machine why it sets X flags.
