Can't really understand what your proggie does. I'm looking for a group of developers interested in building a KDE-compliant ICS interface with rudimentary database support and perhaps an engine interface. Are you guys the right people to talk to.

Nope, we would not be the right people to talk to. For several reasons.
This program is not what you are looking for. It is designed to play "chess" that is not actually chess.
Currently two human players play a game of chess, but, on each "capture" a battle is fought and the piece that loses is removed from the board and the piece that wins remains.
Pieces that fight are reduced in effectiveness and need to rest after battles to recover.
I find it a nice way for two players of different levels to have a bit of light hearted fun together while giving the lesser player a possibly better chance of winning.
I think this program has lots of potential, but I don't have the time to work on it much these days.
