We're testing an app that scans CODE-128 barcodes and after comparing iPhone 4, 5 and iPod Touch 4th gen we found that the iPhone 5 takes a lot more time to focus compared to the other two.
iPhone 4 is almost instant and iPod touch takes slightly longer. But iPhone 5 takes too long and the extra time it's clearly spending to adjust the focus (alternating between sharp and blurry, much like point-and-shoot camera's tend to do).
We couldn't find options to disable autofocus. What could we do to improve scanning speed on this device?
Thanks already for any help you could offer.
Sorry!! Posted it in the wrong forum; wanted to post it in iOS forum but couldn't edit or delete this afterwards. I'll leave it here for now to prevent duplicate posts..
