when you execute zbarcam /dev/video0 though windows command line everything works
if you issue /dev/video1 through command line and second webcam is present, no video is displayed and instead you get the following:
ERROR: zbar processor in _zbar_video_open():
invalid request: video device not found '/dev/video1'

    This appears to be a limitation of the VfW support in some drivers. It should be resolved when we integrate DirectShow (feature request #3128414)

    Cityguru, would you like to try a new idea? I prepared a simplified version of zbarcam (without qrcode), which shows some camera dialog windows. I expect you will be able to choose the camera on one of the tabs. Please report if this helps. You should work on video0.

    I connected a second camera to my xp pc. Using vfw dialogs one may choose the camera. So it is possible to change the status to "fixed"
