Zapcat 1.2 has just been released. This release introduces a trapper, to push data into the Zabbix server. It also makes configuration a lot simpler by providing templates for Java, Hibernate and Tomcat.
Zatcap, the Zabbix JMX bridge, now has drop-in plugins for Apache's Tomcat servlet container and Jive's Openfire XMPP server. This release fixes a number of small bugs are configuration issues.
Guus der Kinderen has joined the Zapcat project. He has changed the server socket handling to use Java's NIO framework.
Zapcat endeavours to be a simple to use bridge between the JMX management API inside Java applications and the Zabbix monitoring tool. This first release offers a maintenance-free Zabbix agent for Java programs.
