We don't have lots of hosts (max 12 per proxy) to monitor and mostly 
basic control (connectivity). But our pi3 are doing very well at it (on 
ships) and are not under heavy load.

We could monitor those hosts threw our main Zabbix-server but the links 
to the ships are not always reliable (mobile network), so having a proxy 
on board is useful.

I would suggest to use a "flash memory friendly" file system on the 
raspi's though. We use f2fs.
