So I guess what I'm looking for, is just something like "please give me a list of hosts in hostgroups x,y with severity > n" and then feed that to a service (formerly IT service). I've worked with zabbix for a while now, but mostly for testing and with a small initial setup of 65ish servers and 10ish switches/upses etc. So - please help if you have an idea or have done something similar. We use the webpages for the monitoring, but I guess you could create a status screen in Zabbix with just the data you are looking for. Should be fairly straight forward. Then, on the PI, you lookup this page (each status screen has an unique url) and extract the data. Takes some scripting, but should be doable, and it's a lot easier then reading the DB directly; ). A nice extra; you have a graphical verification wether the PI is showing the correct data; just open the URL in a webbrowser. Mvg, Guus Snijders |
