More learning

I have got two little LDAP (http://www.openldap.org) databases running, just to see how to do it - now I have to figure out how to get access to what SORTS of data NIS requires be available. Currently, I've only got experience in the /etc/(passwd|shadow) field, and have absolutely NONE with NIS. That'll come later, however. My chief problem has been how to automate store-to-LDAP within my current structure. It isn't as easy as I thought, but I suspect I might be missing something simple here.

Anyhow, more news will come as I get it all together. Any hints, anybody? Or do I just have to go reading for myself? (grin)
