&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Select a Species&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Selecting can be done in 2 ways&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Clicking the arrow on the right of the drop-down box to show the possible selections and selecting one&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Typing in the drop-down box to filter out options then selecting one&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Select a Mapset&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;If you are logged in, two drop-down boxes should appear: a left one for public Mapsets and the right one for your private Mapsets (Mapsets that are uploaded by you and set to private)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Selecting can be done in the same way for selecting a Species&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Select a Map&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Selecting can be done in 2 ways&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Clicking a Map in the Available Maps box to highlight it then clicking the right arrow&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Clicking a Map from the Available Maps box to highlight it then dragging it to the Visible Maps box&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Multiple Maps can be highlighted and in 2 ways&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Pressing and holding control key then selecting the desired Maps&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Pressing and holding the shift key then selecting two Maps which those and all Maps between will get selected&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Multiple Maps can be viewed. If two maps being viewed are next to each other and have correspondences, they will be shown&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;h4 id="removing-maps"&gt;Removing Maps&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Maps can be moved from the Visible Maps box to the Available Maps box (removing a Map) in the same way maps are moved from the Available Maps box to the Visible Maps box (adding a Map)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Maps can be highlighted in the Visible Maps box in a similar way to the Maps in the Available Maps box. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Clicking the 'clear' button will also clear all maps in the Visible Maps box&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;h4 id="viewing-a-map-further"&gt;Viewing a Map Further&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Clicking either the feature (the circle) or the feature name will show more information about the feature&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Only information about one feature per map can be viewed. When another feature is selected the popup window is re-opened with new information on the next feature clicked&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Above the maps is a toolbar that affects all Maps being viewed&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Selecting a feature type filter will only show the features of the selected type&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The 'Clear Filter' button will clear a feature type filter set&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The 'Correspondences Control' button will filter correspondences in various ways&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Correspondences between Maps that are next to each other&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Correspondences between Maps that have a Map between them&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Correspondences based on a:&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Feature name &amp;lt;-&amp;gt; Feature name&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Feature name &amp;lt;-&amp;gt; Alias name&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Alias name &amp;lt;-&amp;gt; Alias name&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;GenBank ID &amp;lt;-&amp;gt; GenBank ID&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Unigene ID &amp;lt;-&amp;gt; Unigene ID (each feature can have up to 4)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Clicking the bare chromosome segment or the map name will bring up a list of options that affect only that Map&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The map can be zoomed in by clicking the '+' button&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The map can be zoomed out by clicking the '-' button (limited by the original size of the chromosome upon viewing)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The map can be flipped by clicking the recycle button&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Features can be filtered by selecting the type to be shown (only one feature type can be selected)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A feature filter can be cleared by clicking the 'Clear Filter' button&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
