People live for the things they love and ideas they believe. From the human history we know that impact of idea can be huge if the idea could have been shaped in consistent with feelings and unconscious eagerness of a person. Every significant historical event confirm this - recal buddism, christianity, renaissance, the third reich, the soviet unioun just to name a few. In fact the progress of neuroscience, genetics and psychology makes imact of ideas almost enormous. In near future mankind will not be already dependant from hard-wired feeling structure that almost every person have from birth. People will have power to change the so far sacred inherent properties of moral structure of every child.
Without need to obey rules that was naturally hard wired mankind will get more power to control themselfs but also get under risk to lost system of values. Under such circumstances one failure idea that will capture the world will be the last one. The only way for people not to get lost in the chaos of seemed equal-value principles is to create robust environment for ideas creation and testing. The environment that will absord all the knowledge in the world and direct process toward the goal of finding the truth.
We believe that the only chance to get the truth it is to consciously and cooperatively to move towards the goal of its finding. From the social psychology we know that isolated single person as well as small group of like-minded persons is prone to so-called confirmation bias and so is not very good at getting the things as they are. We are very dependent from the work we are doing every day, the friends we are communicating, the culture that is dominating in our society, the books we are reading, films we are watching and all the other sorts of experience that form our environment.
On the other hand only person can create ideas. And one person can read only about several thousand books for the whole life. So it is of critical importance to increase quality of on formation that is one read.
