So the way to connect to a machine via telnet is /connect mymachine.domain.org 23 username<enter> password<enter> Joy, `/anick -- The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'. |

You are aware that ymusk is a mush/mud client, and not a telnet client (or at least, not primarely mean to be a telnet client), right? But if you want to connect to, say, a Solaris machine, you can do it by doing: /connect mymachine.domain.org username<enter> password<enter> and to check if you are logged in: /eval `ls` which should list the files in your home directory. Hi Yenz and Ana ;) Well a couple of comments: I think that there is only need for one file to store alarms instead of one file for every char... The fact is that you may be on with other char and need to remember something for another one in particular... so all alarms seen at the same time would be enough... I think... but it is true that it can be cool to list one chars alarm in particular so the final list could be something like this: answer to /alarm : # Hour Date Repeat Char Message - ---- ---- ------ ---- ------- 1 12:00 25-11-2000 na Pipo Dinner with you RP wife 2 12:35 25-11-2000 15d Pipo Go for the paycheck 3 na 26-11.2000 na Pumuky Date with Cyrano 4 na na 15m ALL WAKE UP! YOU ARE PLAYING! 5 2:00 na na ALL GO! TO BED MUSHADICT! answer to /alarm Pumuky : # Hour Date Repeat Char Message - ---- ---- ------ ---- ------- 3 na 26-11.2000 na Pumuky Date with Cyrano 4 na na 15m ALL WAKE UP! YOU ARE PLAYING! 5 2:00 na na ALL GO! TO BED MUSHADICT! I think that one file is enough... On the other hand... a /zone command is cool but I think that it could be better a /charzone comand... I mean: Lisabeta and Alvaro are American but they have different time zones so if you type: /charzone Alvaro the answer would be: 12:45 (-5 hours) Happy ymusking friends ;) Ignacio --- Ignacio José Sueiras Fernández ikn...@al... http://teleline.terra.es/personal/iknatius (alfa status ;) |

Nice PR speech, though. Keep it somewhere near for when someone will ask for a good client at the mush. :) > Well, I am working in some kind of alarm/notes/dates addon... and want to post > here what I think it would be nice... to see what you think about it... > > Well first of all I will include an /alarm command. Oh, detail: don't forget that someone can have many characters, with different alarms. So perhaps character.alarm files are more in order? > It will be simple... if you want more powerful options use external programs... > but it will be very useful... A simple list of things to do. I think to be able to set a hour can be useful for, e.g., TP events. We just have to check if the time has already passed when ymusk is opened, and show up the messages. Another feature we shoud have is recurrent events. So, all in all, the configuration file could look like: 12:38 14-11-2000 = Lunch with Alvaro 15-11-2000 = Visit Church and repent 10-11-2000 @ 15 days = Go get my paycheck Talking of time and stuff, I just realized that a function to find out what time it is in all the timezones could be cute. Something along the line of /zone spain would yield something like "12:34am (+ 5 hours)". It's mainly candy, but it's candy I would like to have. :) Hmmm.... It's decided, it's added on the wishlist. :) Joy, Yanick -- "Maybe we're a Bliss of another kind..." -Tori Amos |

Hies to all ymuskers, This is my first serious post in this list... so I must say first that ymusk is the best mu** client ever made and it will be a reference for the future =) Well, I am working in some kind of alarm/notes/dates addon... and want to post here what I think it would be nice... to see what you think about it... Well first of all I will include an /alarm command. It will permit add/correct/delete alarms in some way... all these from the input window. Later I will implement the GUI in TK. To store the alarms, a file will be created on ~/ymusk dir... let's say in a file called alarms.ymusk for example. It will be simple... if you want more powerful options use external programs... but it will be very useful... A simple list of things to do. When you type /alarm a list of alarms/dates will be printed on the output window (¿other window?... waiting oppinions) in plain text or in red color if they are passed alarms or today alarms... every alarm will have a number of identification so you can easily modify it... The list will be printed when you start ymusk too and periodicaly tested... Every alarm will consist of a date dd-mm-yyyy and a line for the description... i.e. (1) 14-11-2000 Duel between Pipo and Popo! (2) 16-11-2000 Bye some horses for our house. Date with my Count. I want to ask you if you think that it is useful to put hours too, I mean, if you are not online it will be useless and when you start ymusk, the alarms will be tested and you will be shown the daily ones and the passed ones (and future ones in other color)... so I think it will be useless... Well a long post... I hope useful ;) Waiting for your ideas... Enjoy, Ignacio --- Ignacio José Sueiras Fernández ikn...@al... http://teleline.terra.es/personal/iknatius (very alfa state ;) |

Hullo all, I've copied my ymusk working directories at Sourceforge. Developpers can fetch the entire thing by doing: export CVS_RSH=ssh export CVSROOT=:ext:you...@cv...:/cvsroot/ymusk See the documentation of CVS available on Sourceforge for more details. Hullo all, Ignacio, I was wondering if you know how to use CVS? If so, I could make a nightly copy of my working version of ymusk available on the sourceforge cvs server. Or even better, available from my own machine. Of course, if anyone else (which, considering the mailing list roosters, is you Ben ;) is interested to use that service, feel free to raise your hand and say so. :) Joy, Yanick -- ($\,$x,$l)=("\n",' substr($s,$l,$i)',-length($s='8910111632' .'97110'.(1x5).'6104101114328010111410832104979910710111446' ));{$i++until$1+grep$_>123,eval$x,$i;$i--;eval"$x=chr$x"; print$s;($l+=$i)<0&&redo;} |
