First error is 'Cannot find php-config'. Do you have php-dev package
installed? Seems like the last log you sent was missing phpize as well.
If so, try using --with-php-config. I'm not at all familiar with
building PHP modules on Debian. You may not even use 'make_module.sh'
in that case.

Admittedly, I have only hacked them together to provide a basic foundatio=

I received a mail from the PECL folk awhile ago (a mass mailer to many=20
extension writers) which invited me to mailing list so I could join the=20
festivities of enhancing the extension, gaining the unique comraderies th=
the PECL farm enjoys, tribal dances, etc.
Well, it just hasn't been a priority so far. I've receive far more reque=
for enhancement to the Python extension. If we can get a discussion goin=
about a proper API for PHP, and the details of how to handle=20
emitting/loading, then I'm sure things will push forward.
