Hmmm.. I think my suggestion, about indicators on the first line only,
might even be helpful here if you don't mind a new line.

  Creator:
    Baldowski, Clifford H., 1917-
  Title:
You crazy communist! You trying to get us all killed?, [1962].
  Online Publisher:
[Athens, Ga.] : Digital Library of Georgia, 2002
  Original Material:
Savannah, Ga. : Commercial Lithograph & Printing Co., 1917

would then work.

And this, of course, works
---
Creator: "Baldowski, Clifford H., 1917-"
Title: "You crazy communist! You trying to get us all killed?, [1962]."
Online Publisher: "[Athens, Ga.] : Digital Library of Georgia, 2002"
Original Material: "Savannah, Ga. : Commercial Lithograph & Printing Co., 1917"
...
and is really not so bad, but is off topic, since they're not plain
scalars any more.  This also has the advantage that you can
see trailing white space, and can specify leading white space
if needed.

And this, of course, works
---

and is also not bad, except that each value ends with a newline.

So if the values in your suggestion above don't end in newlines
then it looks like it might be a good alternative.  I confess that
I don't really follow its implications otherwise.
