#354 Yahoo breaks down after x00 emails.

HTTP (47)
Joel King

Right, so I'm not too sure if there's anything you can do
about this, except put in some error checking code, but
in, but if you try to download a large number of emails
(say 300 or so) Yahoo cuts in with a bandwidth limit and
starts preventing the download, resulting in a large
number of 'blank' emails being downloaded because it's
reading the 'email' off of their equivilent of a 403 error
page (or somesuch type error).

Yahoo!POPs needs to have the capability of recognizing
when Yahoo! starts getting antsy about it's bandwidth,
so it stops downloading emails, and just remembers to
delete the ones it's downloaded the next time Yahoo!
lets you in.

(Why is the version option only going up to 0.4.x for me
in the bug submission form?)

Set version to 0.5. Is this still an issue? I don't think you
get blank emails. Try the latest beta and let us know.

It's entirely possible that it does so. Sorry, I don't use OE any
more, so I can't test for this, but the reason that Y!POPs was
doing this earlier was because Yahoo actually cuts off traffic
to a specific user after a certain amount of traffic by that user.
Even logging in normally through the website doesn't work
    after that for a while.

The way to deal with that is to tell ypops to limit the number of
downloads per session. 0.7.x now defaults this to 40, which
works well for the users that encountered this issue. Closed.
