#267 -html does too much (or not enough)

Good morning.

I admit, that I use the --html option since yesterday, as I first had to comprehend which webkit libraries should be installed. Yad is compiled against Gtk3, but I a webkit 1.x something is needed... Okay, I worked it out.

Now, even if I pipe locally stored web-pages to yad, some onload() activity forces the execution of a full-blown web-browser, notably to open google-add and doubleclick urls, that I use to block in (e.g.) firefox.
In my case, it is though not firefox which opens but for each such link automatically activated, a different browser is started. As I have Chromium, opera and (what once was called) epiphany-browser in addition to firefox, they are all coming up to show me nothing fancy. The facilitation that I sought with my yad-script is completely invalidated by the necessity to first close three to four other windows, before I see the wanted content.

I imagine, not a workaround, but an alternative to the current -html option: Could there be a console-widget? It would permit me/us to resort to displaying web-content in w3m (or links or lynx).
I have tried w3m -dump [url] | yad --text-info but seem unable to impose a fixed / monospace font for the display.

YAD is a great achievement. With all that it does already quite well, we should keep it secret, else nobody considers IT worth paying, any more. ;-)

try to add --browser option for prevent such behaivors.

i'll add an offline mode to html dialog in one of next releases. but before making this, i must figure out, what this mode must do - only blocks any external links or pass them to some user-defined filters or something more complex. so any ideas about must-have features of offline mode will be welcome
