There is such a severe lack of documentation for YAD that it is extraordinarily hard to learn, pointlessly so. I don't have the time to write up a bunch of documentation for this, so I couldn't add all this to the wiki myself.
I'm filing this as a defect bug because the lack of documentation is that significant. It is easier to find relevant information on undocumented Windows kernel calls than on this.
For anyone who is willing to start, this site should help a little on this task.
I would also like to add that good documentation would tremendously help increase the user base.
Actually, I've found the man page, but that's pretty much all the documentation. I may file a separate feature request for better online documentation, but for now, this should be closed.
I too have been scouring the web for details regarding yad usage. I have to agree with how unbelievably difficult it is to find anything worthwhile.
yad is an awesome alternative to zenity's clunkiness, which I avoid like the plague. I have added yad to a few simpler scripts that are improved and run great. But now I'd like to get beyond basics and find answers to some more difficult solutions.
I like to learn by example so I would benefit from a general repository for examples. One to which people can upload their examples like when conky first came out. Gawd there are so many forums with 100+ page posts offering up an infinite number of conky examples from which one can learn.
