Yacas and yagy development has moved to github. The new repositories are located at https://github.com/grzegorzmazur/yacas and https://github.com/grzegorzmazur/yagy . The mailing list has been moved over to https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/yacas . The downloads section at sourceforge will be kept up to date for the foreseable future.
The win32 builds of both yacas 1.3.6 and yagy 1.0.1 do not work on Windows XP. This is so because of Visual Studio generating by default packages incompatible with Windows XP. Hence, we provide a separate build of both yacas and yagy called winxp to please all users of the good old XP.
Unfortunately, the 1.0.0 release wasn't particularly lucky for Windows. Some last minute changes broke the windows port badly, and even worse, went unnoticed. Hence the emergency bugfix release, targeted primarily for Windows users. While other ports were not affected, we decided to provide a new version for all platforms. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, the 1.3.5 release wasn't particularly lucky for Windows. Some last minute changes broke the windows port badly, and even worse, went unnoticed. Hence the emergency bugfix release, targeted primarily for Windows users. While other ports were not affected, we decided to provide a new version for all platforms. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
The release spree continues, with yagy (Yet Another Gui for Yacas) having been released today. Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/yagy/ to see for yourself that math can be not only easy, but also good looking :)
Quite a few improvements and assorted bugfixes. Mac OS X joins the pack of systems natively supported by yacas.
Minor improvements and assorted bugfixes. Finally a proper MS Windows version is released on par with the linux one.
Minor release adressing issues with unix console, help viewer and consistent cross-platform plotting.
Another minor release with assorted bugfixes and minor enhancements.
Release soon, release often. Just assorted bugfixes and minor improvements. Among others, the reference counter size was increased to gracefully handle even fairly large calculations, which happened to segfault before.

Having transferred all the open bugs and enhancement requests from SF Tracker to trac, I've disabled SF Tracker.
I've set up trac for yacas. Please use it instead of default sourceforge tools. I'll be moving all the work to trac, including the bug reports and enhancement requests.
This is just a maintenance release, focused on improving compatibility with
currently used platforms. User-visible changes in functionality will follow
soon.

Dear all,
A new version of Yacas has been released. You can find it at
The big change in this version is to make Yacas more accessible. You
can now literally use it online like you would use it off-line,
writing programs and then running them, without needing to download
or install anything. On top of that are some articles and tutorials
to help you get started.
