I created a test post after a clean install of 1.5.0
... post contains "test post in message body. Simple
and advanced search both yield no results. post was
used as a query, test was used as a query, tried both
together as well. I always end up with blank search
results page that say "End of results".

Note that a board upgraded from 1.4.1 to 1.5.0 the search works.

ok, this is weird. It just started working. I changed
    absolutely nothing

Maybe the search feature needs a minimum number of posts
before it will work? It had 3 posts last I knew it didn't
work. It now has 6 posts and works. How odd.

Further tests reveal that I cannot search today's posts.
Just anything made prior to today yields results. and yes I
have the minimum age since last post set to 0 on the search.

Have you tried searching by phrase?

yes I have tried all options... I even tried negative
numbers in the Min. Age boxes just to see what it would do.
It seems it won't pick up posts made the same day that the
search is being performed. However searching something you
know is posted that's older than a day it will pick it up
and display in results. The server is on a private subnet'ed
intranet with no outbound internet access either. I doubt
that makes a difference but thought I would include it for
    informational purposes.

Here's more info on the setup if needed:
php 4.2.3 built with mysql client API 3.23.54 non-safe-mode
    SunOS <omitted> 5.8 Generic_108528-15 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60
    Apache 1.3.27
mysql 3.23.54 standard solaris binary from mysql.com

Ok I have found the source of the problem. The time offset
seems to be the issue here. My board is installed on a
server that is in GMT timezone. If I set -6 as an offset in
my Settings.php the problems I described below appear. If I
set the offset back to zero, everything works. If I set the
offset to -6 in my profile I get the problems described below.
