Think it's worth writing a GPL'd client for this?
Just a clean room implentation (with a better structure)
Perhaps even update the messaging protocol (listens on 2 ports?)
Hobbit has its own mailing list, firstname.lastname@example.org - this is the best place to discuss Hobbit issues, since I don't monitor the Sourceforge forums very much.

Yes, I have some ideas for a Hobbit client - which would be very different from the Big Brother client implementation. But let's get the server-side software out first, then I'll start worrying about the client once that has stabilized.
