I have the current version of XVidCap installed from the Ubuntu Software Center (Ubuntu 10.04), and a Logitech Communicate STX Webcam with microphone installed. In my Sound settings, it shows the Camera as my default device, and it shows that for OSS, it uses /dev/dsp1. I\'ve configured XVIdCap to use /dev/dsp1, and when I record a video, I get a series of popping sounds instead of audio from the microphone.
Attached is a video that I\'ve created showing the audio that I receive. Ironically enough, gtk-recordmydesktop captures the audio decently--however the video is horrible (green screen), so I was hoping that your application worked better.
Any suggestions for how to configure things to work is greatly appreciated. I will be more than happy to provide any information from lusb, lspci, dmesg, or any other sources that you request.
Thanks, and have a great day:)
Patrick.
Quick Test video showing how the audio fails to work properly. I compressed it to get it under your maximum upload size.
