I'm seeing similar behavior to the other recent thread, with xvidcap hanging on a Suse 10 Linux 64-bit computer. I don't have a sound card, so I don't know to what extent this is a problem.
I tried the set of instructions suggested in the other thread: make distclean everywhere & new installation in /tmp/xv, except that there was only a xvidcap binary in /tmp/xv/share/bin .
Can anyone summarize a work-around?
Best regards,
Michel
