I have used xvidcap for over a year on 32-bit Fedora Linux.
    Recently I installed 64-bit Fedora 8 Linux.
xvidcap 1.1.6-1.x86_64 was available as an RPM, pre-compiled from the Fedora repository.
It now freezes right away, usually after 3 frames.

I tried downloading the tarball, and compiling it myself.
xvidcap will run longer than 3 frames with this version, but it freezes at random intervals, and freezes every usage.

Here are the results of ldd /usr/local/bin/xvidcap:

Quite possibly an xcb bug, check the thread "froze after capturing 1 frame" in this forum.

      HTH,

      Karl.

I downgraded to the libX11 rpms from F7 and that fixed the problem.
