[xvbat-devel] installing xvbat on ubuntu 12.04

I'm trying to install xvbat on ubuntu 12.04 32 bit.

I've downloaded the source, and looking at the install instructions I come
to a bit of a problem.

First I noticed that the instructions are a bit outdated in that the last
ubuntu version referenced in xvbat-0.10-410295/doc/html/index.html is
11.10.  I was not sure if xvbat would work with later versions of Ubuntu
... but researching more, it seems that it does for some people.  ... right?

I tried following the installation instructions on the same index.html page
and was blocked at the installation of libfwbase1-dev.  I don't see a
repository for it.  ... so what am I going to do?  I tried downloading the
source for framewave and it did not compile for me.  At this point I'm
getting pretty far afield from my goal of trying to have a development
start for xvba.  Any suggestions or help in the short term would be
appreciated.
