As many of you have probably noticed, CD-DA X-Tractor is no longer distributed in binary form. For some time now it has not been under development, and I do not forsee renewing development anytime in the near future.
We're quite happy to announce that as of the v0.18 release, CD-DA X-Tractor will provide support for the new Ogg Vorbis (http://www.xiph.org/) audio codec. Included in the release is vorb_enc.dll, which is a dll wrapper for the the encoder library and can be used by other Windows applications to encode Ogg audio streams. Ogg Vorbis is an open-source, patent-free audio codec that produces files of similar size and quality to MP3, but without any patent restrictions.
