1.0.2 is out, with an important fix for a nasty data corruption bug.

Now supports zlib compressed archives

I released 0.0.4 today. If you've ever had to restore much data off a tape drive with a previous version, you probably noticed that it was very very slow. This is now fixed.

I need someone to help me a bit with figuring out what the right ioctls to use are with FreeBSD's magnetic tape drivers. If you are willing to assist in this, please send me an e-mail.

Shortly after making this project, I found xtar (http://www.stella-consulting.ltd.uk/xtar/), so I renamed the program tarix. Oh well.
