  • Pardon if this is a duplicate post, I was having trouble earlier... so here I go: This is an incredible OS! I like all things illumos related because it is a very "works out of the box" experience. Unlike BSDs, which require extra configuring before getting things to work on any one system, this seems to be geared to get you up and running ASAP. The desktop is very nice! I stuck this on a laptop and it was very "appropriate" presentation wise. I like Hipster, but MATE is very.. MATE... if you get the idea :P This feels a bit more like Mac OS, but without the drama of getting compatible hardware. This worked on every box I threw it at. Core2 Quad, i7 920, i5 mobiles, integrated graphics, dedicated graphics. I know FreeBSD didn't really play nice with my Celeron 4920 + HD 610 graphics. So this get's an A+ from me for getting people on the scene where they can start getting development done without the hassling of getting it to work. I'm one of those people who attempts to use UNIX as a home desktop experience (web, video, light gaming, also trying out new stuff and creating tutorials on helping others ditch the Win scene.) Hoping to see any kind of updates either in 2019 or 2020. Good luck team.

Thanks so much! We have a 2020/2021 release, but desktop is not yet finished to be updated. We'll be uploading new iso soon.
  • Where's the source code? .iso is released without any source?
