Hi Claudius,

In my view your development of a second XSLT based XForms implementation 
is not necessary!

By all means test out some new ideas about how to do things but I feel 
that there is only a need for one such tool that is open-source and 
free! For development and testing efforts to be diluted makes no sense.

Remember, XSLTforms only exists because of a lack of mainstream browser 
support. Eventually I hope there is no need even for XSLTForms. Best to 
get one thing working really well and then people will see the benefits 
and the likelihood of native support in more browsers increases.

Also, I just came across the Xforms implementation from XMC2 "Formula", 
its cross-browser (no plugin) and it seems very fast, its based on GWT. 
But in theory you have to pay for it, again a good reason focus on 
improving XSLTForms.

Hi!

Before implementing the use of an XML Data Island by XSLTForms for 
XForms instance storage, it's, of course, very important to be sure that 
browsers support this well and help is welcome!

I have published a Javascript test page executing 3 different functions 
+ a specific function for Internet Explorer: 
http://www.agencexml.com/direct/island.htm

This has only been tested with standard browsers for Windows, two mobile 
browser simulators and test web sites (Konqueror fails again...). Don't 
hesitate to use different browsers for different platforms.

Thank you for your feedbacks and suggestions for more performance!

running the page -- just that the page opened without errors, or the
actual times reported by the script?

Knowing for which browsers there are errors is clearly the most important.

If everything works, "data" should be displayed for each table line 
(except for IE...). Times depend on machines, of course, but they should 
be decreasing for the 3 functions. Whether mobile phones have almost the 
same times or not is very interesting.
