Michael,

I wish I could be of help, but this does seem to be a bug. I remember
running into the same issue previously.

Would it work, for your application, to define an <xf:bind
id="labelBinding" nodeset="..." calculate="..." /> with more complex
conditional logic to generate your itemset labels?
