default for opening files read-only or read-write

Hello everyone, 

I installed xslt-process_2.2 last week and just now started using it. 
I'm afraid I must have chosen to open files by default in debug mode. 
Either that or the installation default is to open files read-only in 
debug mode (XSLTd). 

I know about toggling debug mode on/off, but I'd like to open all 
files read-write by default, not in debug mode. How can I do that? 
Perhaps I must reverse something I did previously.
