#8 not xhtml compliant

When i switch to source mode, i discover that
the line breaks are posted as <BR>, instead of <br/> (or
<br /> - with a space, to support compatibility with older
browsers i.e. NS-2 and such.). Also, tags are in
uppercase, as they should be in lowercase according to
the XHTML 1.0 standard.

I'm asking this because i'm planning to use XS as a tool
for an XML-based system, and the XS output is not XML-
compatible.
