Guys,
My group is still having issues using XRDP with Windows and RHEL 7. We use Windows 10 and Windows 7 to RDP into user's hosts and Virtual Machines. Where we are having an issue is when we RDP from our machine (Win10) to the users host (RHEL7) and then try to start up VMWare Workstation 12.x. Workstation powers on great, but when you start up a VM we get a black screen inside workstation with the error "Failed to detect host display topology, using one display as default".
I have created a ticket with VMWare here https://communities.vmware.com/thread/561426
Under RHEL 6, this works perfectly and we are able to do our sysadmin work. But since we have some users switching to RHEL 7, this issue has flared up.
Any ideas? Thank you!
Please close this ticket. This ended up being a Windows issue. Under remote desktop settings, if we set the Colors to "True Color (24bit)" we could view the VM's being powered on.
