Major Updates to the XRCD Project

This evening the XRCD Project has received a massive amount of updates to the documentation and website. The Project homepage http://xrcd.sourceforge.net/ is now online for public use.

Since the implementation of server links, the XRCD Development Network was formed, you can log on to it using au.xrcd.info port 6667 (IPv4) 6668 (IPv6). See the Project homepage for more information.

Project documentation on the SourceForge repositories has also been updated. Parties extremely interested in XRCD will now be able to obtain the information that has been written so far.... read more

eXtended Relay Chat Daemon Mask Mode Management

The eXtended Relay Chat Daemon, a fledging new alternative to modern IRC server software, is now currently providing to mask mode lists to match against.

Problem: The extent of the changes to list management in xrcd are so dramatic it could not follow standard (rfc1459) or modern extban (ISUPPORT 005) guidelines. The mask being set at MODE time needs to provide the adequate information regarding what is being set so that clients and bots may be made aware of this, although it could create confusion in older/specific clients, especially if they do not catch the EXTLIST ISUPPORT pearl.... read more

xrcd pre-alpha planning - call for review

The xrcd project has begun, with the core irc client system close to fully operational. With the anticipated release of 0.010 to the public, I ask that you all review the proposals and goals of this project.
