Just a small sugestion: to ease adding and editing many tasks (probably a common thing in the beginning of projects), it would be nice that the story and task "tree" stayed open after you posted (ok button) the changes in the planning page. To make it easier to add and change new tasks. For this, the post would have to inform the state of the tree (that is, which "divs" are visible ...), of course.
While we are at it: could we have a way of directly editing the dates? It is much faster than the calendar drop down. The caledar could still be available, but from a separate button ...

About your first question: I think using the "more compatible mode" on config section, should do the trick. That's it! :-)
Second question: yes, we started with this, true. That just means we'd have to code for a "verify date" method. Ok, that makes sense anyway. We'll do it. Do you want to participate? ;-) We're very busy at the moment...
