[Xplanet-development] displaying moon and sun odd observation

I have the following 2 lines in my markers\earth file:

position=sun image=sun.png transparent={0,0,0}
position=moon image=moon.png transparent={0,0,0}

I have noticed over the past several days that the sun and moon images
are very close together. The sun looks to be correct but the moon is
approx 1/2 southwest of the sun when using the -proj rect setting. The
moon is being displayed in the day area instead of the night area of the

screenshot. The sun and moon are on the lefthand side.

Since there is a new moon coming up is this the correct positions? Can
anyone tell me what is going on?
