Strictly speaking, Split, Scatter and Gather are just XComponents. However 
given that
their function is to split data into chunks that can be fed down different 
XPipes, it is
true that they are most useful in creating XRigs. Expecially Split.

Scatter/Gather are really, really useful for dealing with the instance size
problem often faced by XSLT/DOM programmers. I hope Scatter/Gather will
be the main demo for the next release of XPipe.
