#1 Adding notes manually to .xpad directory

Hi, I've been considering writing a conduit for
coldsync to syncronize xpad notes with the memopad on
the Palm device. Reading the notes from the .xpad
directory seems easy enough, but I'm wondering about
adding new ones. I tried just creating new files for a
new note, but xpad doesn't do anything with it until
being restarted.

Any ideas?
