    Hello everyone,

I want to download the latest German dewiki with pictures. You have a new
    dump located here:

    https://archive.org/details/Xowa_dewiki_latest

The Problem is the speed of the http download. I would love to torrent the
files as offered and seed the files. But only two of the files are included
    in the torrent file.

Can you reload the torrent to include all the files?
Or do i have to contact archive.org?

Thank you so much for the helpful tool!

Hey, thanks! I didn't notice that.

The torrent is automatically generated by archive.org. I'll contact them and let them know it's an issue.

In the meantime, I updated https://archive.org/details/Xowa_dewiki_latest with a direct torrent to my machine. If you want to help seed, it would be great!

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks again for the alert!

By the way, I like to credit users with discovering defects. Let me know if you want to be cited in the XOWA change log. You'd get a line with something like

    • Torrent: Upload new torrent for German Wiki {detected by your_nick}.

Let me know if you want to be cited, and if so, what nick. Otherwise it'll stay as anonymous.

    Thanks again!

    This is the unpacked version.

    Only for information:

This torrent is unpacked and does not include the debundle.

Yup. That's correct. I'm torrenting unpacked versions as per this thread: https://sourceforge.net/p/xowa/discussion/general/thread/dde6ae15/

The bundles are "small" so I'm not sure if there's usefulness in torrenting them. Also, they're compressed, and the preference seems to be for uncompressed.

Let me know if you feel otherwise.

Okay, i started to help you seeding.

Even this torrent has no empty line between the trackers. I changed it on the fly, so my client can help using "peer exchange".

Let me know if you feel otherwise.

I have some thoughts, but i have to think about it first.

No problem! "fake4d" it is. Thanks for following-up!

I really hope they reupload the Torrent as soon as possible. I

As Anselm pointed out, use the other torrent. It may take archive.org a while to get to it. I was hoping I had labeled the alternative properly.

I also put it in the table on top. :)

        Really? At this page? https://archive.org/details/Xowa_dewiki_latest
i do not find it. I only find the "packed" version.

Uggh... You're right. Wrong torrent link

I updated the table now to point to the right link (the one you had in your screenshot).

Thanks for pointing that out. For what it's worth, I'll put a line in the Change Log for the help.

How expensive is it to seed 24x7 at my private pc?
isnt it cheaper to rent a "seed box"?

I'll keep this in mind, but honestly I don't mind the "cost", and I'd rather have the control on my side.

If connectivity becomes an issue, I'll definitely keep the above in mind.

      Thanks.

Hmm, i am getting different peers at obtrix.net and at home....

          Anselm D - 2014-08-21

At this moment, the obrix.net upload is fast, 2.6MB/s to israel and 300 kb/s to Hong Kong

            Anselm D - 2014-08-21

obrix.net uploaded 33,6GB in 5 hours. The peer from israel now has 88% of the enwiki in this time. Wow, and all in 5 hours.

Wow, that is fast. I'll keep obrix in mind if I go that route...

                Anselm D - 2014-08-22

Yes, the israel peer was able to get it fast. But the other ones are much slower. Here i send you some screen shots (without ip addresses) from obtrix and my own computer (en wiki).

Ok. Interesting comparison. Obtrix.net looks to be in the US, so maybe they have a better connection to the backbone. At the very least, I'd hope they were faster than either of our computers. :)

I was able to choose between US and NL and i chosed NL. I did not check the IP adress to validate the location.

Ah... Okay. I looked at the company profile and assumed both data centers were in the US.
