#8 few second PC lockup between songs

This email was sent to me via PM, I cannot reproduce it
therfore I am registring it as anonymous.

The original french description is:

J'ai un problčme bien embętant, et je ne sais pas si il
est issu de ma config ou si vous l'avez remarqué
aussi : dans une playlist, ŕ la fin d'une chanson, et
juste avant que foobar ne lise la suivante, un blocage
majeur de windows survient pendant qq secondes, puis
le systčme se débloque et foobar lit le titre d'aprčs. Le
blocage affecte tout les processus en cours de
windows, et męme le curseur de la souris se fige. J'ai
bien sűr essayé différentes combinaisons d'options du
dsp et de foobar, changé des drivers ci et lŕ, mais le
problčme semble bien ętre dű au crossover. Avez vous
une idée sur l'origine de ce bug?

Translation: A major lockup of Windows occur, for a few
seconds in between songs. All processes lockup, even the
mouse pointer freezes and then after a few seconds
everything resume properly.

The user kindly provided is system spec where problem occurs

Hardware
- Motherboard
+ asus p4p800s-x (intel 848 I beleive)
+ MSI 645 before, same problem
no overclocking
- Processor P4 2GHz
- Memory 512 (3200) + 256 (2700) generic brand
- hd : 2 * 80 Go Maxtor + 200 Go Maxtor
- PS antec phantom 350w
- Sound Card
+ terratec phase 28 (envy24ht)
+ contrleur ac97 de la carte mre
- Graphic card: ati 9500

Software
- OS (many reinstall did not fix the issue)
+ win xp
+ win 2000
- Foobar: version 0.8.3 (normal installer)
- foo_dsp_xover: crossover version 0.10
(including a fresh and lightest reinstall)

Notes:
- Any config with the 2 sound cards and all supported
resolutions
did not fix the pb
- The lockup is systematic no matter how many song including
only one (but in this case it is shorter 1,2 sec)
- What ever sources (diffferent hdd)

Some more information, I dont get a lockup on a 2.4GHz
P-IV but I do get an 80% peak at the song transition
where the steady mode is at 10% with everything turn
on. If I disable the crossover I dont get the peek.
