#181 horizontal scrollbar

Since 2 years I am using and appreciating a lot Xournal for teaching in front of
many students with the tablet instead of blackboard and chalk.

One feature I really miss is to be able to scroll horizontally (left-right)
through the pages instead of vertically (up-down) as it is now.
In order to emulate the blackboard on a landscape tablet with
landscape projector, I use a landscape A4 paper which I just
divide with an yellow line in two parts: left and wright.
Scrolling to the right rather down would allow the students to view the
last part of written text...

Could you implement it and add an option like

# scroll: true for leftwright, false for updown
scrollbar_leftwright=false

please ?

Having the pages displayed next to each other horizontally rather than
vertically should not be all that hard, but it does require changing a
little bit of the logic of the code (specifically, the manner in which
scrolling or clicking outside of the page area can cause switching to a
different page: it's now the horizontal coordinate that needs to be
checked to figure out where we are). I like the idea -- it seems a lot
better than the common request (and existing patch) to have a mode where
2 pages are next to each other horizontally but the overall flow remains
vertical, which makes little sense conceptually (the only reason people
request it, presumably, is because Adobe Reader has it; I don't
understand how one is supposed to work on a document in that mode).

Unfortunately, I probably won't have the time to do this anytime in the
near future, but I will add it to the to-do list. Thanks for the good
suggestion.

I actually like more and more this idea of a horizontal continuous view
mode where successive pages are arranged left to right. Since I have a
few hours of free time today, I will try to implement it.

Done -- the code in the CVS and GIT repositories now has a new menu entry in the View menu, "Horizontal", which should do the right thing.

I'll try it life in two days in front of over hundert students. I hope it
will be in the next realize.
