The maximum length of the username field on the
registration form is hardcoded as 25:

include/registerform.php

$reg_form->addElement(new XoopsFormText(_US_NICKNAME,
"uname", 26, 25, $uname), true);

This value should be obtained from the configuration
parameter maxuname (xoops_config.conf_name).

I changed this. At the same time I corrected several
inconsistencies in some user-interface elements also (the
uname was hardcoded to 10 or 12 sometimes). Sent to 2.0.7
branch.
