I hadn't checked in a while to see if xemacs still
crashes my mac (e.g. since installing the security
patches of a couple of weeks ago). It does, promptly;
gives a kernel panic, just as before. This is supposed
to be related to a bug in the Darwin kernel, so I
wasn't expecting a change..
However, I tried another experiment, which is to connect
to the Mac from another machine (in this case from a Mac
running OS 9 and eXodus). I then ran xemacs, displaying
back to the Mac. It ran flawlessly! I banged away
on it exercising as many xemacs features as I could manage,
for about 20 minutes, with no problems. So it appears
that the problem is related to how xemacs interacts with
the X11 system under 10.1.
Does anyone have experience running xemacs under 10.1
on a dual processor mac, with a different xwindows system
(Xtools, or the OS X version of eXodus)?
