Has anyone been successful in running the available
build of lxdoom with XonX (as rootless)?  I think it wants
to run in 256 color mode (not sure).  I changed the
number of bits in Mac OS X to 8, but still does not work.

Does anyone else have a recent build that will work?

    Gracias

XDarwin doesn't really support anything but 24-bit color in rootless mode. Fullscreen Quartz mode with XDarwin 1.0a2 is the way to go if you want to use different bit depths.

Tangenting this I'm having trouble using XPutImage, both local and remote. The problem is that XCreateImage only accepts 8, 16, or 32 as bit depth and XPutImage only works if image->depth == server->depth.

Does anyone have a workaround for this, and does anyone have a good idea of how to fix it? (Would it be possible to start the server in 32-bit mode?)

If you search the archive you'll probably find one of my previous comments where I point out this incompatibility.

I ran lxdoom on XTools a long time ago just fine, but never got it to work with XDarwin. I don't think it's a bit depth issue.
