Can't run in 15bit mode

I can't run Darwin in 15bit mode when running Quartz. I set the OS X bit depth to 15bit, but XDarwin still runs in 32bit mode regardless if I use quartz or rootless mode.

The problem is I'm running the X11 apps in Debian on VirtualPC which requires Quartz to run. Thus quitting Quartz in order to run XDarwin in root mode at 15bit is not an option.

Is there any solution to this problem?

This is strange. Full screen mode is supposed to use whatever mode Aqua is using when it starts up. You have to set the display preferences to use "Thousands" of colors and before you start XDarwin. (Don't switch back until you quit XDarwin.) If this doesn't give you 15-bit color, that is a bug. Rootless, on the other hand, always assumes 32-bit at the present time.

I have just finished some code that allows full screen mode to run with any bit depth (including 8) regardless of what Aqua is using. I'll be checking this into CVS when I get back from vacation.
