How are you starting XDarwin? 1.0a2 may have a bug that breaks double-click starting; try `startx -- -rootless -keymap USA.keymapping` instead.

What does your .xinitrc look like? If there's ever a time when all of the X11 programs close and nothing is using the X server, the X server resets itself, and XDarwin doesn't handle that case properly. I have seen the out-of-bounds exception when that happens.

Actually, the log you gave looks incomplete. We need the complete log from the time you first start XDarwin till it quits. XDarwin often sprays false errors like this one after it effectively quits. It looks like it is trying to restart again and then gives a meaningless error.

As Greg, mentioned, "startx -- -rootless" should get you going in the meantime.

Please confirm if this crash is still present in XDarwin 1.0a3 and post the full console log, if it is.

This appears to be fixed in 1.0a3
