Recently I tried using xnedit on Fedora 42 and 43, and sometimes encountered the following message:
imDefLkup.c,399: The key event is already unfabricated.
I’m not sure what it means, but it doesn’t appear to cause any problems.
To reproduce:
1) Download the xnedit source and build it on Fedora 42 or 43 (you may need to install some libraries during compilation).
2) After a successful build, launch xnedit, select File → New, then detach the newly created tab. The message should appear.
3) Alternatively, launch xnedit, then select Preferences → Default Settings → Colors → ANSI Colors → OK (or Close), and the message will also appear.
I have seen this before, not only in xnedit, but also in other applications. The message itself is from xlib.
I was not able to pin this to a specific line in the xnedit source, it happens somewhere in the event loop (XtAppMainLoop).
No problem - just report what I saw. Thank you for your reply and please close it.
