#2 Cannot get cvs

I don't know if I'm doing something stupid, but the
following doesn't work for me:

$ export
CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@superduper.net:/var/lib/cvs/public
$ cvs login
Logging in to
:pserver:anonymous@superduper.net:2401/var/lib/cvs/public
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: connect to
superduper.net(207.138.119.30):2401 failed: Connection
refused

I have been able to connect to other cvs servers
before, so I'm perplexed.
