Hi! xmms 0.00007 is now in the CVS repository - binary packages should appear sooner or later in the OZ feeds. This is a bugfix release, fixed are: - noise when playing from source with some odd samplerate (eg 32khz) fixed - compilation with gcc3 should not break the gui now - /dev/dsp1 is closed when the speaker is not used (headphone is plugged in) - vorbis plugin gives feedback when buffering from shoutcast stream bye Denes |

Would like to check whether this or previous version supports IPv6, i.e. it can connect to IPv6 enabled icecast ? Hope there are patches around for compilation.. thanks ----- Original Message ----- From: "Balatoni Denes" <pn...@co...> To: <xmm...@li...>; <xmm...@li...> Sent: Thursday, June 05, 2003 6:54 AM Subject: [Xmms-embedded-users] xmms 0.0007 > Hi! > > xmms 0.00007 is now in the CVS repository - binary packages should appear > sooner or later in the OZ feeds. > > This is a bugfix release, fixed are: > - noise when playing from source with some odd samplerate (eg 32khz) fixed > - compilation with gcc3 should not break the gui now > - /dev/dsp1 is closed when the speaker is not used (headphone is plugged in) > - vorbis plugin gives feedback when buffering from shoutcast stream > > bye > Denes > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Etnus, makers of TotalView, The best > thread debugger on the planet. Finally, someone is awake on this list. HOW DID YOU GET XMMS-EMBEDDED TO WORK? Are you running it on a Zaurus, like I am? I am running OZ3.2, and when I install the xmms-e packages, they say that they depend upon libstdc++. THERE IS NO LIBSTDC++ LIBRARY AVAILABLE. What gives? PLEASE, for the love of goodness, would someone help me? Read my previous posts for more details, shell logs, etc. On Thu, 5 Jun 2003, James Tan wrote: > Would like to check whether this or previous version supports IPv6, i.e. it > can connect to IPv6 enabled icecast ? > Hope there are patches around for compilation.. > > thanks > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Balatoni Denes" <pn...@co...> > To: <xmm...@li...>; > <xmm...@li...> > Sent: Thursday, June 05, 2003 6:54 AM > Subject: [Xmms-embedded-users] xmms 0.0007 > > > > Hi! > > > > xmms 0.00007 is now in the CVS repository - binary packages should appear > > sooner or later in the OZ feeds. > > > > This is a bugfix release, fixed are: > > - noise when playing from source with some odd samplerate (eg 32khz) fixed > > - compilation with gcc3 should not break the gui now > > - /dev/dsp1 is closed when the speaker is not used (headphone is plugged > in) > > - vorbis plugin gives feedback when buffering from shoutcast stream > > > > bye > > Denes > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Etnus, makers of TotalView, The best > > thread debugger on the planet. Okay. I am having NO luck here. The version of xmms-e distributed in the Testing feed of OZ at present (0.00006) requires (as I noted earlier) libstdc++-- WHICH I CANNOT FIND. I cannot run it. The previous version available from the SourceForge page (0.00005) errors on startup as follows: -------------------------------------------------------------------- # /opt/QtPalmtop/bin/xmms Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Output/liboss.so /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Output/liboss.so: undefined symbol: __divsi3 Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Input/libmplayer.so Found iplugin Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Input/libwav.so Found iplugin Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Input/libxmms-mad.so Found iplugin Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Input/libfixpvorbisplugin.so Found iplugin Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/General/libQPEgui.so Found generalplugin Processing Qtopia gui for XMMS 3.1.2 QPE init started Processing MAD MPEG Decoder plugin 0.1.0 Proceddes Processing MPlayer plugin1.2.7 Proceddes Processing Ogg Vorbis Player 1.2.7 Proceddes Processing Wave Player 1.2.7 Proceddes Segmentation fault You've probably found a bug in Qtopia, please visit http://www.trolltech.com and fill out a bug report.:) -------------------------------------------------------------------- I have not seen this thing running AT ALL! No matter what I try, it breaks! Please, could someone tell me how to get the thing running? Preferably without having to compile it myself from source? I really don't want to muck about on CVS... I just want the damned thing to WORK.. please, someone help me, this is driving me CRAZY!!! J e s s i c a L e a h B l a n k |

DOES THIS VERSON FIX THE FACT THAT THE 0.0006 PACKAGE IS MISSING LIBSTDC++, AND NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A LIBSTDC++ PACKAGE FOR OZ3.2??? Sorry for yelling, but I noted this problem yesterday, and absolutely NO ONE responded. (No, I did not yell that time.) Please, someone help. I installed OZ3.2 yesterday, and thought it would be a breeze to get xmms-embedded going.. no dice. It depends upon libstdc++, which is not available, and I could not find a libstdc++ package in any of the feeds I could find. Nor did Googling help much. As far as I can tell, I'm the only one in the world with this problem; apparently, other OZ3.2 users pulled libstdc++ clear out of their rectal cavities or something... Please, someone help. I do not keep dynamic libraries in my butt; I don't know where the rest of you are pulling libstdc++ from... ;) On Thu, 5 Jun 2003, Balatoni Denes wrote: > Hi! > > xmms 0.00007 is now in the CVS repository - binary packages should appear > sooner or later in the OZ feeds. OK, with some tweaking, I finally got this working. Thanks! Now, the question is: How do I get mplayer working? It needs libncurses4. OZ3.2 comes with libncurses5.... After yet more ridiculous tweaking (ISN'T PREVENTING THIS SORT OF ROT WHY THINGS ARE PACKAGED? This is ludicrous. All this work to pull up a non-working program.), I find that mplayer is apparently being called with a bad option: MPlayer 0.90pre5 (C) 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS!) Error: 'geometry' is not a mplayer/mencoder option command line: -geometry ....sigh.... someone help. On Wed, 4 Jun 2003, Jessica Blank wrote: > OK, with some tweaking, I finally got this working. Hi! Sorry I only got time to reply now. On 2003. j=FAnius 5. 04.54, Jessica Blank wrote: > After yet more ridiculous tweaking (ISN'T PREVENTING THIS SORT OF ROT WHY > THINGS ARE PACKAGED? Also note that mplayer in oz (and xmms) feed doesn't need ncurses - only=20 libmad, libvorbisidec1 (aka tremor) iirc. Also these packages in the xmms-e feed don't have the libstdc++ dependancy. bye Denes |

Am trying that feed now. God, I hope i works. Why is it so incredibly difficult to get this stuff working? And why am I the only one reporting problems? How on earth did the rest of you get it going? Compile everything from scratch? While thius would be lovely, I really don't have the time, and I don't know how to make an ipkg (any pointers to sites teaching me how?) I use oz buildroot for that, you can look around th= e=20 faq on www.openzaurus.org, or docs.zaurus.com. But you probably won't need = to=20 crosscompile. bye Denes |

Your feed WORKS! FINALLY! Thank you! One request: Could you compile in more codecs for mplayer, please? Some of my videos no worky. Also... what size is it downsizing videos to? I could write some scripts to manually downsize videos I intend to watch on the Zaurus. If you could give me the precise size (width x height) I could write a "zaurusify" script for videos. If you click on the image, it will play in fullscreen as mentioned in the f= aq.=20 Than no resizing is done, maximum image size is 320x240. In window it resizes to a width of 224, height is calced from aspect ratio. bye Denes =20 |
